The OTHER L Word that Democrats fear

Tue Jan 31, 2006 at 09:13:14 PM PDT

There is a word that the Democratic party appears to be utterly terrified of. It's a word that we all know fits the current occupant of the white house, but no leading Democrat seems to be caple of speaking The Word. I'm not afraid of The Word.

I'm David Dreier - And I Have Good News!

Wed Sep 28, 2005 at 01:08:01 PM PDT

Something about the new GOP Majority Leader David Dreier has always bothered me (no, not that - and no, not that either).

No, it was something else, something elusive and really creepy.  For some reason, every time his mug appeared on the talking heads shows (which was once almost a daily occurrance), Dreier seemed - well, he just semed disturbingly familiar to me, for reasons I could never quite put my finger on.

Then, as I was watching TV today with all the coverage of The Bug Man's departure, it clicked...during a commercial.

Hillary, I am NOT your friend. (with poll)

Tue Sep 13, 2005 at 05:27:24 PM PDT

Today my postal mailbox yielded yet another in the endless stream of solicitations from "Friends of Hillary."

Hillary's mailing starts off like so:

"Dear Friend,

Part of my job is being a good listener.  Whether it's listening to my colleagues in the Senate, voters back home in New York, or Americans across the country as I work hard for the causes so important to us - like improving access to health care, strengthening the economy, protecting social security and our constitutional rights, and fighting for wiser national and homeland security policies - it's an important part of what I do"

Hillary goes on after the flip....

Bush orders flags lowered to half-mast

Sun Sep 04, 2005 at 07:28:14 PM PDT

I just heard (sunday evening) that the Incompetent-In-Chief has ordered that all flags at US government buildings be lowered to half-mast in honor of Chief Justice Rehnquist's passing.

I have no problem with this symbolic act; it's traditional to do this (even though I won't be shedding any tears for this man, who has done so much to hurt this country).

What I do have a problem with is this...(after the fold)...

RFK Stadium in DC to be renamed for "Armed Forces"

Thu Apr 14, 2005 at 12:52:27 PM PDT

Yet another sign of Amerika's rush towards militarism and fascism: Washington DC's historic RFK Stadium (named for Robert F. Kennedy), is to be renamed "Armed Forces Stadium".

Now home to the new DC baseball team, I guess they couldn't have anything named for a great Democrat mentioned so often in the media, and it must have really pissed off the wingnuts to have to go there.

So they've fixed that nagging problem.
